The Progress of Education Reform: Community College Success
This ECS publication looks at the latest research on student success in community colleges and offers insights on the strategies that show the most promise in promoting greater educational attainment for community college students.

Currently funded projects:

  • Align developmental studies curriculum with high school and college level curriculum. Alignment occurs through English and math curriculum revision committees of 7-9 expert faculty.

  • Evaluate current assessment policies and tools to ensure improved placement of students and measurement of impact of developmental studies efforts. A task force of faculty and TBR administrators are reviewing policies and making recommendations to TBR.

  • Integrate the developmental studies redesign project with other state P-16 efforts like Tennessee’s participation in the American Diploma Project. ECS annually convenes state policymakers, education leaders and representatives from the Tennessee P-16 council to explore how developmental studies efforts can be integrated into state P-16 policy discussions.
